Travel Trailer & Camper Insurance

Protection for travel trailers, fifth wheels, and campers, at the campground, on the road, and in winter storage.

A travel trailer spends its life in three states: parked at a campground, rolling down the highway, and sitting in storage, and each one carries different risks. Todd writes camper and travel trailer coverage that handles all three: physical damage from storms, fire, and road incidents, liability at the campsite, coverage for the belongings and gear inside, and protection during the long storage season. Many owners assume their tow vehicle's policy covers the trailer, and it is only partly true: liability while towing often extends, but damage to the trailer itself typically does not. Todd closes that gap before the first trip, not after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doesn't my truck's insurance cover the trailer I'm towing?

Only partially. Liability while towing commonly extends from the tow vehicle, but physical damage to the trailer itself, from a storm, a blowout, or a backing mishap, generally does not. The trailer needs its own physical damage coverage.

Is my camper covered while it's parked at a seasonal site?

Seasonal sites are a very Minnesota arrangement, and coverage should be set up with that use in mind, including storm exposure and the deck, awning, or add-ons at the site. Tell Todd how the camper actually lives and he will match the policy to it.

What about the stuff inside the camper?

Contents coverage handles the gear that lives in the trailer: bedding, cookware, electronics, fishing equipment. Homeowners coverage may reach some of it, but a dedicated contents limit on the camper policy is cleaner when something happens far from home.
